I realise the month is not over yet, but given that I will be abstaining from Posting due to real life commitments (discipline? from user brekkie? unheard of!), now is better than never.

ART AND TIMES:

I decided to print some cards for the festive season! You can see a photo of it in action over on my Bluesky

I'll be candid here: this process has been a total struggle. I initially gave up on this piece but my friend kindly gave me the encouragement I needed to complete it. My issues were as follows: I've only recently come back to art as a hobby, I'm incredibly rusty, I don't know whether my art is worth printing and sending to others. I could just have easily gone to the shops and bought professionally designed cards that nobody would complain about! I was running out of time! What if all of these get caught in the deluge of Christmas cards and never resurface?

Then it came to actually printing and distributing these. Minimum order quantities stress me out. Do 25 people even like my art?! I don't want to know the answer. Anyway. The truth of the matter is that I enjoy sending and receiving snail mail and personalised stationery! (I've always had a general enthusiasm for philately and physical correspondence, despite the rising costs in recent years...) And I wish to keep this tradition going, so I'll have to figure out a way to print decent quality cards at a lower minimum order quantity next year.

All things considered I'm just happy I now have a surplus of Charlie prints. I love my little guy and I'm glad I did this.

I hope people I've sent these to receive them safely! And if you're reading this and it's still November and we're mutuals, please feel free to ask for one.

KINDNESSES:

My friend sent me a game as a gift which caught me completely off-guard! I'd completely forgotten about the concept of Steam gifts. The note that accompanied this gift referred to our two decades of friendship and I was very touched by this. It's Mini Cozy Room: Lo-Fi (link takes you to the Steam page). I use it as a productivity tool as it has a built-in pomodoro timer system, and just watching the pixel version of my OC Charlie go about his hobbies lifts my spirits a little even when I don't have the timer running. I've never been the biggest fan of lo-fi as a genre (miss lo-fi studying girl and I are ships passing in the night), but the ambient sounds have been pleasant.

Here is a virtual Charles engrossed in one of his Tomes. Adorable gift, 10 out of 10.

That's all for November! Reading has been on the backburner because of RL stuff, unfortunately. I hope to resume my own Tomes when December rolls around.
