Very busy! Still, I managed to carve out some time to spend with my friend in her corner of the world!

I brought my Afternoon Tea Companions along, of course, for their designated purpose... I don't want this to turn into an afternoon/cream tea review blog, but I did enjoy the fact the tea room on the right image included... grapes with the order. More establishments should do this! What a good palette cleanser! When it comes to tea I tend to order the house blend or whatever sounds like the maltiest breakfast blend on the list (why do you think my username is what it is), especially if it's a full afternoon tea and not just a cream tea affair as to not inundate one's taste buds with Too Much, but I'm always curious as to what other people prefer. Defend your order in the comments below...
(Psst, there's probably still time to ask for a postcard from this trip if you're reading this in February, do get in touch if you're interested as I plan to send them with a relevant postmark...)
As for art, I haven't had any time to draw whatsoever and it's agonising, but I'll at least get the opportunity to do more of that come the summer. I've been rather happy on the roleplay front as the DnD campaign from last year (fantasy Regency, with my IRL friends) has been picking up speed, and I was invited to join Jiu's RP group! Hopefully I'll draw more for both of these when time allows.
Some of the things I've read for fun in the past month:
Will also try to do that 2025 film review at some point soon...

Some of the things I've read for fun in the past month:
- Joseph Roth's Radetzky March [Everything I ever wanted. May elaborate on this later, but if I had to recommend anything from this month's reads... I would think this quintessential for fin de siècle/early 20th century enjoyers and father-son/state-servantofthestate enjoyers/the falcon cannot hear the falconer...]
- Thomas Savage's The Power of the Dog [Excellent, loved it almost more than the film. There is more of Rose in this and her relationship with Peter is even more compelling.]
- Compilation of Georges Bataille's short stories (My Mother, Madame Edwarda, The Dead Man) [Equal parts amused/perturbed. Sasuga Bataille.]
- Albert Camus' The First Man [Should be reading Camus in French I KNOW but not this time as I found this in a used bookshop and it called out to me. If you liked the quoteunquote texture of the world in something like My Brilliant Friend I think this would be a good read for a Texture enjoyer.]
Will also try to do that 2025 film review at some point soon...
